#735 - not merging properly

Closed Bug? created by mp Verified Purchase 5 years ago

I installed the module today. I use Word 2013. Using your values template I can see the module name and all of the fields in your document. Using my own .docx document I am getting bad results.

I am tring to create an agreement and I am getting only 2 or 3 fields merging. My module is name is acase so I am using [acase.name] and [acase.scannemodel_c] (a custom field).

In the example below - line 1 & 2 dont merge but the last 2 do

`                             [acase. accounts.billing_address_street]
                [acase. accounts.billing_address_street_2]
                [acase. accounts.billing_address_city]
                [acase. accounts.billing_address_postalcode]

your template suggests the merge field should be [ acase.field ]    ie spaces either side.

I need some help or I will have to have a refund

Thanks.

    Hello,

You can use the template "Var extractor" available on the documentation tabs of this add-on to identify the right field name: www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/synogeneratedoc
Additionally each time you enter a new tag, select it entirely (including the interval sign) and click on the Review ribbon, in the Proofing group, click the Set Language button. In the dialog, make sure the "Do not check spelling or grammar" box is checked.

    Best regards,

OK. You haven't answered my questions. Ive done the Var Extractor but your results are poorly set out. You are displaying the fields with spaces around them. Why do that and create confusion ?

The issue is this. If the document is a ODT then I get extracted fields. If the source document is a docx created in Word 2013 I get no results. If the source document is a .doc created in Word 2013 I get no output at all.

I have narrowed this down to the format of the source document. Your module cant handle .docx source templates well.

      Hi,

If we do not set a space then the var will be interpreted instead of displayed.
The extract vars template is a docx and it works because you can extract vars by consequence that demonstrate that docx are supported by the plugin.
Why it's not interpreted in your case? Many potential reasons about that, the main reasons are describe in our previous answer: the spell check is enable or you haven't do a paste as plain text when you past your full tag [acase. accounts.billing_address_postalcode]

      Best regards,
