#536 - Upgrade to newer version

We were using SugerChimp version 3.0.0. It has stopped syncing target lists between SugarCRM and MailChimp.
I know that I should upgrade to the newer version as the older ones are not supported anymore.
But I have no idea how to do it. Where and how can I get the new version?

    Hi there, thanks for reaching out.

    All you need to do is start a new SugarChimp trial, and that will give you access to the new installable package. Simply click "View Pricing" in the top right corner, select how you would like to pay (after the trial ends), complete the registration process, then you'll see the latest downloads.

    Before installing the new version, you'll want to make sure the old version of SugarChimp is completely uninstalled from your system. It is causing a lot of problems on other systems.

    You can uninstall the old version in "Admin" > "Module Loader".

    Thanks for your quick response.
    Can you please confirm if installing the new version is the only solution to solve the synchronization issue or not?

      Since we just recently took over SugarChimp from the previous owner and due to all the problems past versions had, we cannot support the old version so going to the new version really is the only option.

      I suppose there is a chance that something else on your system is causing the problem, but I would imagine it's the old version of SugarChimp with the problems.

      Again, I'm happy to walk you through the uninstall/install process if you'd like. Thanks again!

    Hi there,
    I'm back :) Thanks for helping me with this issue.
    One more question! It may be too much detailed. But I really need help.
    The scenario that we have is as below:
    We have customized our contacts module and we've added some check boxes there.
    We have made several marketing lists which gets synchronized with the contacts list automatically and immediately.
    I mean, by ticking and unticking each check box , records gets added and removed from the target list. It works perfectly.
    Previously we were using the older version of SugarChimp to send out Newsletters and emails.
    The target lists in the mailchimp were getting synchronized with the sugarCRM and also the unsubscription process was working fine.
    "If somebody was subscribing from a newsletter, the mailchimp list was also updated, the targetlist on SugarCRM was updated and the check box in the Contact panel was unticked"
    Now is the actual question!
    I'm not aware if the guys who have set up the previous version had done any code customization or not.
    I want to know if we will be able to use the new version of SugarChimp as the previous one.
    I mean does it have anything to do with the checkboxes?
    I myself think that check boxes are only hard coded o be in relation with Target lists within the SugarCRM.
    They will get updated as long as the target lists gets updated disregarding the SugarChimp version.
    [My question may be irrelevant to the purpose of this forum so I appologize in advance.]

    AND also one more important question!
    Does the new version of SugarChimp get integrated with the SugarCRM Version 6.5.2 (Build 8410)?
    [I just thought with myself that we can get the trial version first to get answers to all of our questions! . right?]

    Thanks for all the info! Like you say, it sounds like there may be some special customizations in place, however we have people who use SugarChimp to do exactly what you're wanting.

    You can use SugarChimp and have one master target list in Sugar and one list in MailChimp. You would then create custom MailChimp fields on your list to match the checkbox fields you have in Sugar. You can map your Sugar checkbox fields to the MailChimp list fields. When changes are made in Sugar or MailChimp (such as contact info changes, or checkboxes get updated, etc.) the data is synced.

    And yes, you will be able to use this in Sugar 6.5.2. All features work for Sugar 6.5 and above, with all editions.

    Hi all,
    I had a same problem, but after installing SugerChimp v7, in connecting to MailChimp, it returns an error :
    The MailChimp api key failed to save: API call to helper/ping failed: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed
    I checked the API key for SugerChimp, it is right.
    How can i solve it?
