#1542 - Issues in SuiteCRM 7.3

Closed Bug? created by davidfarrell 8 years ago

I have installed RT GSync On-site version over Suite CRM 7.3 and set up link with a Google Apps for non profits account following all Installation instructions.

I have found a number of issues:

Export of calendar events from SuiteCRM to Google calendar fails.

Emails sent from Google web client are not picked up in SuiteCRM (seems to ignore the configured sent mail folder)

Calendar sync from SuiteCRM to Google calendar is failing for new events.

The following does work:

1 - Create event in Google calendar.

2 - Edit event in Suite calendar.

3 - Edit shows up in Google calendar after a few minutes.

I would be grateful if you could advise on all points.

    Hi,

Did you mean that calender events created in SuiteCRM are not syncing in Google and Calender events created in Google are syncing in SuiteCRM ? So it mean your Sync is working only one way i.e Google to SuiteCRM ? If it is so then we have to figure it out on your SuiteCRM instance that why your SuiteCRM to Google Sync is not working.

Can you kindly explain the part, "Emails sent from Google web client are not picked up in SuiteCRM (seems to ignore the configured sent mail folder)"

Following two points are the same: 1. "Export of calendar events from SuiteCRM to Google calendar fails." 2. "Calendar sync from SuiteCRM to Google calendar is failing for new events."

    kindly elaborate.

    Regards, Rolustech Support

Calls logs created in SuiteCRM do sync to Google calendar correctly but meeting entries do not.

Can you kindly explain the part, "Emails sent from Google web client are not picked up in SuiteCRM (seems to ignore the configured sent mail folder)"

If you create a Gmail in a browser then this does not show up in the SuiteCRM email client even though the sent mail folder has been configured in the settings.

    Hi David ,

    1. For meetings in SuiteCRM there is a limitation that if the status of the Meeting is "Held" it will not be synced. Kindly verify and let us know.
    2. There is no relationship of creation of Gmail from the browser. Following is some detail that will explain how Emails with SuiteCRM work.

    * GSync only imports emails to SuiteCRM "My Emails" folder. * GSync does not pick sent/received emails from google and sync it in SuiteCRM. It only imports emails to SuiteCRM which are in inbox of configured Mail Account and are pulled by suiteCRM.

    Hope it helps.

We have tried all SuiteCRM meeting settings and still no meeting events are pulled through to Google Calendar only call events.

      But your website states:

Automatic Email archiving for all the incoming and outgoing emails even if users send and receive emails from Gmail. If you send and receive emails from Gmail then automatically the emails are archived with the associated records in SugarCRM. NOTE: Works with any Google Apps enabled domain or even if you only have a Gmail account and not Google Apps.

So you are now saying that the CRM is not able to archive email sent using a synched Gmail account?

This is fundamental - we need to record in CRM related accounts/contacts both outgoing and incoming emails from the synched Gmail account.

      Regards

      Dave

    Hi,

    1. Kindly provide us your SuiteCRM Url, user-name and password at support@rolustech.com so that we can deeply look into the issue .
    2. Archived Emails are associated to Accounts/Contacts, but first they have to be in your SuiteCRM configured mail account inbox/sent folder.

If the date or time of a meeting is changed in SuiteCRM, then a new Google calendar entry is created with the new time, but the old entry is left behind. The redundant entry in the Google calendar then gets synced back to SuiteCRM as a new calendar entry the next time the sync operation is run. Please can you advise.

    Hi David,

We have verified from our quality assurance department and the results do not show the creation of any extra meeting. Can you kindly re-check on your end to make sure if you are checking the same record of meeting. If you still face any issue , then please send us the snapshot of your issue at support@rolustech.com with your case number.

These are the steps to reproduce the meeting time change problem, which can now also be demonstrated on the instance we gave you access to:

1 - Enter the Suite calendar and click "Schedule Meeting" 2 - Create a meeting called "Test Meeting 100" at 10:00 on 15/09/15. 3 - Wait for the Google sync job to run. 4 - Check Google calendar to ensure the meeting has been synced. 5 - Use the Suite calendar to change the meeting start time to 15:00 on 15/09/16. 6 - At this point the Suite calendar will only show "Test Meeting 100" at 15:00. 7 - Wait for Google Sync event. 8 - Check Google calendar. "Test Meeting 100" will now be showing at both 10:00 and 15:00. 9 - Wait for Google sync event. 10 - Check the Suite CRM calendar. "Test Meeting 100" will now be showing at both 10:00 and 15:00. The 10:00 version has been synced back from Google as a result of it not being deleted from Google when the time was first changed.
