New Dashboard Append Tool for Safely Customizing Dashboards

Dashboard Copy Manager has always been the easiest tool to copy dashboards to one or many users. But it didn't solve the issue where users have their own customized dashboards and an admin wants to push out an additional dashboard without wiping out existing dashboards. This has been the most common feature request from our customers and now we are excited to include Dashboard Append within Dashboard Copy Manager.

Dashboard Copy Manager Adds Append Functionality

Dashboard Append allow admins to create new dashboards and deploy them to the user base without impacting their other dashboards. Any number of dashboards from any user can be selected within a template and deployed to individual or multiple users, roles, or teams.

If the dashboards are modified and need to be pushed out again we will update the originally appended dashboard if the template was already deployed to a user. As always if any dashlets within the dashboard contains filters those will also be copied to each user.

Create Dashboard Append Record

When creating or editing a Dashboard Append Record we dynamically create a list of all available dashboards so you can append multiple dashboards at once. This list is sorted by [Owner Name - Dashboard Name]. We store the dashboard ID so if a user changes the name it doesn't impact the functionality but changing a name does not update the children dashboards.
