#2188 - Cannot create Dropdown with SecuritySuite enabled

Closed Bug? created by jreutter 7 years ago

We are using SuiteCRM Version 7.5.3, Sugar Version 6.5.23 (Build 1061). Currently cannot save a created a Dropdown list using the Dropdown editor when SecuritySuite is enabled. If you disable SecuritySuite, dropdowns save as normal.

To help duplicate the issue, are you using English for the primary language? If not, what language are you using?

If you are using English, this sort of behavior has happened in the past due to the install not fully working as the file permissions prevented it from doing so. I would suggest using this script to adjust permissions/ownership and then try installing SecuritySuite again: http://www.shanedowling.com/sugarcrm-permissions-script/

One note...we are using a WAMP stack installation, but all permissions seem to be writable.

Creating a new drop down looks to work just fine, but there were times I had to click on "Save" twice. Can you give that a try, please? SecuritySuite doesn't touch this page, but it does touch /include/utils.php which is likely used during the save process. I would also check that file to see if the permissions and ownership is the same as the rest of the files in that directory.

Hopefully you were able to get this working. I'm closing this for now as we were unable to replicate the issue.

Jason - We still have the issue, but have been using the disable Security Suite workaround. I looked into it a bit more today on one of our test instances and in the Apache error log from the Dropdown create attempt it showed the following error (it's in a language I'm not familiar with so there is not much I can do with it). Does this help to troubleshoot? Not being able to edit or add new Dropdown's without disabling SS is a PITA. You mentioned you were unable to recreate, but this issue is present on all of our instances (test and production).

That helps. Looks like there is a language issue. I advise completely removing the following file from the web app directory:

      /custom/Extension/application/Ext/Language/ru_ru.SecurityGroups.php

Then go to Admin->Repair and run a Quick Repair & Rebuild. The dropdown editor should then work for you.

Jason - That did the trick! Dropdown editor is now working. Thank you!

Great! How long ago did you download the SecuritySuite package? When you go to Module Loader what version of SecuritySuite shows there? I want to be sure the right one is available to download. We had to remove this file due to this issue in the past.
