#2562 - Filters not carrying through to deployed templates

Closed Bug? created by nepo 5 years ago

I added this message to a previously closed case, so to ensure that it got through, I've created a new case....

So this works when I create the template from the original user. But when I load that template and deploy it to a user, the filter does not carry through. For example, I have a filter that is set for Calls that shows "My Items" AND "Status" is Planned, however, once deployed to the user, the template is successfully deployed, but NONE of the filters come through with it. PLEASE HELP.

    Hello,

We tried to create a dashlet of "List View" type with the specified filters, but we were unable.

In the list view dashlets you can either have the standard "My items" filter or define a new one that is not dynamic. The new one would use for exemple assigned to: [specific current user] and status: [planned]. This type of filter will be redeployed by the module but as the filter is not dynamic, it will still point to the user that created the dashlet.

Can you guide us on how you set up your dashlet to use "My Items" AND "Status" is Planned?

Given the fact that the whole idea is to build dashboard templates that can be distributed out to teams, it seems only logical that the users who are on the receiving end of the template, should have access to "their" data and not the data of the user who created the template. So for example, I created a Calls dashlet that has a simply filter. The first filter simply shows "My Items" and the 2nd is for the "Status" = to Planned. This is a simple example, but one that should show the call records for the user that is logged in, but it doesn't. When I configure the dashlet as one of the users for which this template is deployed, that filter that was created in the template does not exist, there is no filter at all.... If I simply choose the "My Calls" filter, then I have no ability to filter the list any further, which sorta makes it pointless.... I have attempted to attach an image of that dashlet filter here, hopefully it came through. Screen Shot 2016-10-06 at 10.32.36 AM.png

    Hello,

I have just tried your scenario and it does seem to work as presented. I setup the dashlet on the homepage of user1. I setup the filter using "MyItems" and Status is any of "Planned". This filter retrieves correctly the calls assigned to the current user. I then proceded to create a template using user1 as source. This template is the deployed to user2. From my tests user2 does have the same filter and the call list shows calls assigned to him.

I have tried this scenario using a Sugar Pro 7.7.1.2.

So we have finally upgraded to 7.7.1.2 and when I attempt to deploy I get an error (see attachment). According to module loader, we're running dashboard manager version 20150629.Screen Shot 2016-11-08 at 2.43.21 PM.png

    Hello,

Can you please update to the latest version? You can find the package in the "puchases" section of your Sugar Outfitters account. I think your version is no longer compatible with your Sugar version. The update should be installed over the old version (without uninstalling before). This way you should still have all the dashboard templates already saved.
