#4017 - All new contacts are being add to mailchimp then automatically deleted

Closed Bug? created by bsisti Verified Purchase 5 years ago

Over the last few days every single new contact that sugarchimp brings into mailchimp is being automatically deleted. Why would this happen? The contact is still in mailchimp but the only data that remains is the email and it says "This contact is deleted". This happens immediately once it is brought in. No errors on the health screen.

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like Mailchimp may be deleting and archiving a contact. You can see more about this here: https://mailchimp.com/help/delete-contacts/ . The good news is that these deleted and archived records act as unsubscribed and can be resubscribed once the underlying issue is discovered.

I checked in with our developer to see if there's something SugarChimp could be doing to cause this issue, as the data is successfully being synced to Mailchimp prior to deletion. It sounds like it might be worth first checking with Mailchimp support to see if there is a reason they would delete these records automatically, such as an error processing payment or the list size growing beyond the chosen plan. Can you check in with them to rule out any issues on their end? You can contact them using the information found here: https://mailchimp.com/contact/

Once you hear from Mailchimp, please check back in and if needed, we can do some further troubleshooting to see where the issue lies.

    Best, Heidi

    Hi Brian,

Just wanted to follow up here since we were able to find the resolution. It looks like the recently added merge field was marked as required, but was missing an entry in Suite. We removed the requirement and confirmed that records are now syncing as they should.

Please let us know if you need anything further!

    Best, Heidi
