#809 - Security suite and quotes

Closed General Question created by ece Verified Purchase 9 years ago

Hi, I'm trying to manage security on qutotes using Security suite but unlike accounts or contacts, I cannot assign any group to the quotes. I created a relation between quotes and groups, now I can assign a group to a quote but it doesn't seem to affect the security.

    Hello ece,

If you created the relationship via Studio then it will not work as Studio is very limited in how it can create relationships and therefore cannot create the special relationship needed to hook up a custom module with SecuritySuite.

There is a feature in the full version of SecuritySuite called Hookup Module (https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/securitysuite/features#custommodule ) that creates this special relationship correctly and without needing any coding skills. You can try to custom code a relationship if you don't want the full edition, but if you have ever dealt with SugarCRM coding you will know how much of a pain it is to create relationships.

Ok thanks Eggsurplus, I have another question relating to the same product. When I create a lead with a user associated to 2 security groups, the lead is automatically associated with those two security groups, is there a way to avoid this automatic association ?

Absolutely. You can tweak the options by going to Admin and then Security Suite Settings. Here is an overview of the options: https://www.sugaroutfitters.com/docs/securitysuite/options
