#1573 - how to set 2 departments in one user

Closed General Question created by FairTRADEX 8 years ago

hey,

i need to create 2 departments.

1- affiliates. 2- retention/support.

how it will work, all orders will be coming form affiliates, and we'll be assigning them to sales people/retention, now, if i sign a purchase to a retention person, and the order came from an affiliates, can you tell me how it will appear on the platform please..

    Hi Samuel,

I'm not really following the questions here. What is the ideal way that you want the groups to be assigned in the end? You have a number of options under SecuritySuite Settings for configuring how the auto group inheritance works, but you always have full control over the Security Groups subpanel for adding or removing groups depending on your needs. It really depends on your needs and configuring it to how you want it to work.

For more complex workflows, you may want to consider automating something that may not be possible out of the box. You can do that via logic hooks or using Process Manager which also gives you the ability to add or remove SecurityGroups based on your criteria.

    Hope this helps!

i think i didn't properly explain my self.

i've 2 groups- affiliates and support.

the thing is- when a purchase come to the platform it will be under a specific affiliate- after that i'll sign the purchase to a sales person... this is 2 different departments. and my main question is, if i'll be able to see all this in the purchase ticket...do you understand me :)

It depends on how you set things up. Do you want to be able to see this purchase ticket as the original handler of the purchase? Are you the purchase in the Affiliates group? If so, you'll want to have the Affiliates group added under that purchase in the SecurityGroups subpanel. Then when you assigned the sales person who is a member of the Support group you can have it auto add the Support group to the purchase by ensuring that you have Inherit from Assigned User set in your SecuritySuite Settings. So in the end both of the Affiliates and Support groups will be in the Security Groups subpanel for the purchase meaning that they will have access to it (depending on the rights that you give them via Roles).

      Does this make sense now?
