#1453 - SugarFeed - Manager not seeing team activities

Closed General Question created by Gargi 8 years ago

Hi, I have used this plugin for our Sugar CRM system version 6.5.20. Here i have tried creating two hierarchy roles that i.e "Owner only " and "Group only".

I have made sales team 1 and allocated two users "A", "B" and "C" in this group. Here i have assigned owner only roles to "A" and " B" and Group only role to "C".

The intention was to create the Sales team and manager hierarchy. I login into user accounts, in user accounts of "A" and "B" i see the only activities which their owners are creating i.e "A" and "B" itself. In activity stream also it works fine.

But when i login through "C" account i get the privelege of watching the leads/opportunities on which "A" and "B" are working along with my person activities as am user "C". But when i try to see activities in "Activity stream " i dont get able to see teh activities of user "A" and "B".

Please provide your response over this.

Yes. I dug around and tested this out on 6.5.20 and I also see the blank rows, but after drilling down it would only be blank for those records that didn't have the SecurityGroup assigned to the record. To clarify, it'll show the rows correctly for user "C" if the user either created the record or if the user is in a group that is associated to that record. If not, then it shows as a blank row.

As a user, I would prefer that the blank row be removed altogether. The blank row piece is due to a limitation in Sugar. I am going to investigate if there is a way to filter this data out before it gets to the dashlet so that you only see the rows that you should for the currently logged in user.

For anyone else also experiencing this with the Activity Stream Dashlet. We took at look at the Activity Stream Dashlet again and the way they designed it just doesn't allow for it to be useful for Security Group filtering. There isn't a way for us to safely customize it to work as expected. This is one of the rare pieces within Sugar that just doesn't follow standard convention which means Security Groups associations/filtering can't be applied. It can only be based on assigned user.
