#1218 - Issue with layouts

Closed Bug? created by dbphoto84 9 years ago

I have multiple layouts for different groups and a default layout. When i update group1 layout it over rides all the others, the layouts never seem to sync properly with the groups. What can i do to check or fix?

Do you have some sort of server side cache enabled such as APC or Memcache? That may be doing some bad caching. Or it may be that the group layouts aren't able to go to Sugar's /cache/modules/MODULE/metadata/GROUP_ID directory due to rights. So everyone gets the same layout. Are the layouts in Studio correct for each group? If so, then it's probably something above that is causing it not to work as expected. Another alternative is that the user that is seeing the issue is a member of multiple groups. It'll try to use the "primary group" first for that user and then whichever group first has a layout.

Hope this helps! Technically there isn't a reason you should be seeing this so hopefully it's just file permissions or cache related.

Also, if you recently updated SugarCRM make sure to also install the appropriate SecuritySuite or you may have this behavior because the custom Studio code would be lost. Then whenever you deploy for a group layout it would look like it is overwriting all other group layouts.

Okay I did some research - Users are only part of one group - I disabled xcache, but when i check the /cache/modules/MODULE - there isn't even a metadata folder. I checked permissions are 755 with apache as the owner. I am running suitecrm w/ sugar version 6.5.18 - from the module loader i have 2.8.1

Do you have custom group layouts created in Studio for each of those groups? As soon as you create and deploy them they go to /custom/modules/MODULE/metdata/GROUP_ID. Once a user who should see a custom group layout goes to that page it will then go to the corresponding /cache folder of the same path.

      Hope that helps!

Can you explain what is not working for you? Also, I'm trying to find your account and unable to find it. Did you purchase SecuritySuite here? Feel free to email me at solutions@eggsurplus.com if you have any screenshots or additional information on what isn't working.
