#4149 - Sync Email to Contact(s) Manually?

Closed General Question created by jkitsmiller 4 years ago

Am I able to manually choose to sync an email to a Contact? For example, an internal email has to do with a Contact so I want to manually choose to sync it with that Contact.

Ah, it seems I can. I had clicked on Archive this Email, but it took 10 seconds or so to come up. Is there anything that can be done to speed that up?

Similarly, it took several seconds to archive it.

If I click off the email will it continue to archive it so I can move on to the next thing?

Well that stinks. Although it acted as though it was archiving it, voila, it wasn't in Sugar.

Yes, you can move away from an email while it is synchronized. Speed mostly depends on Sugar server. Also if you do not want to automatically link an email to contacts, leads or accounts you can uncheck corresponding options in Settings. Unchecking speeds up archiving as well.

In the logs I see that email were archived. Why you think they are not in Sugar? Notice that they should not appear in Email module, they should be displayed in History panels of related Leads, Contacts, etc.

I am not sure I understand.

Why wouldn't it appear in the email module?

I want it to automatically sync to Contacts and Accounts, but we don't use Leads. Is there no way to choose which modules to use to increase performance?

I guess I am basing the speed on using the SugarCRM Outlook Plugin. Although we are having problems with errors, it is very fast. For example, when an email is archived, it is almost immediately in Sugar. And, as I would expect, is in the email of the contact(s).

Could you check that emails appear in History pane;? They may not be displayed in Emails module because of various reasons.

You may switch off Leads in Settings - scroll the page down for this option.

      Hi Max,

If this is not going to save it to the Email, then it will not work for us. We run reports and other things based on the activity type.

It saves, sometimes Sugar does not display and requires fixes. I recommend check the history pane first. If no emails there than it is a different problem.
