#266 - 2.70 Update does not fix "Reminders" bug...

Closed Bug? created by mrlaw10 10 years ago

It was out understanding that the 2.70 update would address 2 things we had concerns about: 1) "Reminders" had a bug in that when you added a reminder, the date was alway set at the day BEFORE your selection and was therefore not correct, & 2) an increase to the "clickable area" of menu items. We applied the 2.70 update and neither of these problems are resolved. Let me gve you examples:

1) Reminders - Pick any date to add a reminder to an item. In the upper-left of your left column navigation area the date is displayed correctly but the date in the "Reminders" section at the bottom of the left nav is still one day prior to your actual selection. Now, refresh the page, and BOTH areas for the date are one day prior. If you refresh the page, then BOTH the top and bottom instances of the Reminder will be wrong...very confusing to our users. So confusing that they do not USE Reminders, although we'd like them to:

2) Here's the problem with "clickable area"...click on "More" on the top-nav so that you get a drop-down of modules. Hover your mouse over ANY of the modules and see that when your mouse is hovering in the highlighted area of a module, your cursor turns into a pointer, indicating that the area is "clickable", but unless the mouse pointer is DIRECTLY OVER THE WORDS, then the user clicks and clicks and clicks and gets very frustrated because it's not working. If the highlighted area is NOT to be clickable, then your cursor should not indicate with a "pointing finger" that the area is clickable. You should make the entire highlighted block clickable, especially because the cursor turns to a pointer in the entire highlighted area of the block, indicating that it SHOULD be clickable (but, of course, is not)

What Browser are you using? We just found an issue with IE Support. That we fixed but need to check in case this affects other browsers as well.

Both of these problems exist with the 2.70 update in: IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari (all current versions).

we sent a fix (just wating for the upload to appear here). please load version 2.7..1 - that definitely fixes the issues with the clickable area. Also the timezone issue we see as fixed but due to the possible diffreent settings if that still persist please send me an email and we need to look at this on your system to understand the root cause. In case you load the theme and the changes are not taking effect please also make sure to empty sugarcrms theme cache. Sometimes SugarCRM is not fully predictable on what gets reset in its internal cache. Deleting the cahce definitely helps in this case.

Hi Christian, thank you for your hard work. You fixed the bug with the "Reminders" and you greatly improved the "clickable area". We still need to tell our user to "please click in the middle of menu items" because you still have "dead zones" on all the EDGES. For example, you are emulating Google.com navigation ...in any of Google's apps, when a block becomes highlighted, and you move you mouse "anywhere within the block" your mouse pointer turns to a pointing finger indicating that the area is clickable, and anything that indicates "clickable" is TRULY clickable. In your theme, all of the outer edge areas of a highlighted block will turn you mouse pointer to a "pointing finger" (indicating that it's clickable) but clicking does not select the menu item (on the outer edges). Take a look at the attached screenshot ... anywhere outside of the "red box" is "highlighted area where the mouse pointer indicates that it is clickable" but clicking there (outer edges) will not select the menu item. No Google.com app has that problem ... in Google.com apps, everything that "looks clickable" is truly clickable. Why don't you just make the entire highlighted block clickable?
