#355 - Contacts only syncing one way

I seem to only be able to get contacts to sync from Google to Sugar. They do not sync from Sugar to Google. Sync works on calendar ok - the only problem is with contacts form Google to Sugar. You can see my logfile here:

I'm looking at the timezone issue now but don't believe that's the problem as calendar syncs ok but contacts don't. It assumes the correct timezone anyway.

Please help :)

    Hi hivemindnet,

    We have looked into your log file, it seems that sync is working and trying to update/create your Google contacts but you don't have sufficient privileges to update/create contacts using apps as we have seen "Expected response code 200, got 401". And 401 error means you are not authorized for current operation.Please consult your domain administrator to enable it, may be they have disabled access .

    Hi Thanks - we've made some progress but still something is failing. I went into the google admin console and disabled 'force use ssl' in api use and now errors in log have gone (see below). However, the contacts in my CRM are still not appearing in my google contacts list???

    Also - is the email syncing? I see no references to email in log?

    Hi,

    According to log statements,emails are syncing. You can verify by creating any lead/contact/account having any of email id that you have in you conversation (inbox/sent items). Kindly update or create new contact in SugarCRM and check if it sync or not? Note: Only assigned contacts to you will be synced to your configured gmail id.

    If still issue exists , kindly update us with log file.

    Ok - So actually the contacts are now working - thank you!

    It's worth letting people know that they must change the default setting in google apps so that it doesn't force using SSL of this fail will appear for them.

    On the point of email, there's no check box to enable/disable in the settings and email sync doesn't show in the logs. Is this correct?

    Thanks ,you have reported and pointed out this issue , definitely it will help other customers also. Regarding email, yes there is no check box but there is activate and deactivate functionality. only admins can do this. As current email archiving is not specific to users but specific to inbound emails configuration.

    For others - this just caught me out again. I changed google accounts and again got "ERROR:Expected response code 200, got 401" in the log and only 1 way contacts sync. You need to go in to google admin for the domain, find the 'contacts' app and then go into setting for that. In there you'll find an 'enforce SSL' tick you need to remove.

This case is public. Please leave out any sensitive information such as URLs, passwords, etc.
