#3190 - Deployed Dashboards are missing filters for existing users only

In Progress Bug? created by Evolution Marketing 6 years ago

Hi Support,

One of our clients has downloaded you product to allow them to deploy various dashboards to their 60+ users.

We appear to have encountered an unusual bug though. Deploying dashboards to any users created after the plugin was installed, work as normal, with dashlets retaining any filters that were set.

When attempting to deploy dashboards to existing users who were present in the system prior to installing the plugin however result in a dashboard with Dashlets with no filters.

They are using SugarCRM Enterprise, Version 7.8.2.1 (Build 40)

Have you encountered anything like this before? Is there any further information I could provide that could help us isolate this issue?

Cheers Jared Dalrymple Evolution Marketing Services.

Hello Jared. Thanks for contacting me and sorry your customer is having an issue. I have not run into this issue but do some testing tomorrow on an instance of 7.8.2 and see if I can figure out what is going on. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything that would treat the users differently.

I'll update you on the progress and if I need any additional information.

    Hello Jared,

Looking over today I think I may have identified what may be going on. When deploying we do a check if the filter for the target user exists so we don't create a duplicate. After the function is supposed to either return the existing id or the id of a newly created filter.

Previously I did not have a check on the target module so I'm wondering if that is impacting the search. I have an update I can install and test if you can send credentials or if you prefer I can send that to you.

    Thanks again. Shad shad@jackalsoftware.com

Hi Shad that sounds really promising, thanks for your effort to look into this issue.

If you can send me the update to test, that would be preferable.

    Hello Jared,

I am also communicating with Bernadette and did some more testing today. The filters seem to be copying over properly when I did a deployment to a new and an existing user but perhaps something is off with the filter she is talking about that isn't working still. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    Shad

      Hi Shad,

Thank you very much for your continued support on this. I also tested yesterday, and found everything to be working for me as well. I have spoken with Bernadette this morning and tested a little further, and we identified that the dashboards she had created prior to you applying your last fix were still deploying without filters.

We tried recreating the dashboard from scratch though, and the new version deployed without issue!

Bernadette will be going through and creating a number of new dashboards today, but I expect that this will work as expected now. I will follow up again this afternoon.

      Cheers Jared
