#2284 - How identify different records with the same status

Closed General Question created by jpalmisano 3 years ago

Using Sugar 7.5.2 with this dashboard template deployer

Our customer service dept. needs a visual of cases that have been set to "in progress" that they have not worked on

for example: the tech needs information from the customer so they set the case to "pending customer input"

The customer then responds and provides the requested information
there is a hook in place that will take the inbound email and update the status back to "in progress"

they need that case identified so they know they need to work on it.

So my question is how does this plugin interact with the view and where in the mess of sugarCRM directories does that take place. I noticed that this plugin creates several tables. Do those interact with the views already available in sugar and then create custom views in each dashlet? How can I identify the records I need to make a visual identifier on using this plugin?

    Hello,

To identify the cases that are pending you will have to setup a list dashlet with a filter on the case status. For more details please consult the sugarcrm Documentation .

The module stores the current dashboard and dashlet configurations and helps you deploy it to another user. Normally you should not need to know how or where these dashlet information are stored to use them.

Right well the problem is that cases are In Progress for different reasons. So a filter is only helpful to identify the status but not why it changed to that status. I need a way to separate if a case is new or if a cases is being worked on as we used the same status for both situations. I am the dev here and I need to know how this interacts with the view so I can then edit that view so specific records are highlighted for them. Or do you think this type of advanced customization is not possible with this plugin?

    Hello,

The plugin does not allow for any customisations of the dashlets and dashboards themselves. You will have to develop your custom dashlets and dashboards with their specific filters and then use the the dashboards template module to store and deploy them.

For more information on how the dashlets and filters work and are setup please check the editor's Documentaion and Developer blog.
