#4747 - Logic Hook changes relationship between Contacts and Accounts

Closed Bug? created by Ann-Christin Krohn about a year ago

Hello, there is a Logic Hook running almost every minute in our contacts module, that constantly changes the relationship between a contact and its account. We now found out that this Logic Hook is in relation with the SugarChimp add-on. If we disable the "SugarCimp"-Time job, the effect does not occur anymore. But this is no solution because we need the MailChimp integration.

Case in detail: We have the case that there are contacts who have the same name and the same email-adress but they should be related to two different Accounts. We know that we can edit this via Subpanel. But in our case "Person 1 - A" who should be related to "Account A" always gets the "Account B" via "Logic Hook" back a few seconds after we saved the relationship to "Account A" successfully. While "Person 1 - B" (same name and e-mail as "Person 1 - A") stays with the "Account B". Is it somehow possible to disable the logic hook? How can we realise that "Person 1 - A" has the relationship to "Account A" and "Person 1 - B" has the relationship to "Account B"? The issue first appeared on 23rd of February, 16:21 UTC+1. Sugar support could not help us, an upgrade to the newest version of the add-on hat no effect.

This Logic Hook seems to run every minute or two for that specific contact, leading to a ton of entries in the audit-protocol (takes several minutes to load it due to massive load of data). What kind of Logic Hook is this? Can you stop it from running? We aren't able to change the correspondig account of this contact.

There are a few other contacts, where this Logic Hook is running, but not that often. Nevertheless it prevents us from changing the corresponding accounts of these contacts.

We can provide you with specific examples, if necessary.

Thanks in advance! Best regards Ann-Christin from Hamburg

    Hi Ann-Christin,

    Thanks for sending this along. I think it would be helpful to get some debug logs so we can more closely see the logic hook that's running. Can you send along (in an email to mailchimp@fanaticallabs.com) a screenshot of your Health Status page as well as your license key? Additionally, it would be helpful if we can get some debug logs while replicating the behavior you're seeing. Can you re-enable SugarChimp, put SugarChimp into debug mode, and attempt to replicate the behavior you're seeing? I'm including these steps below:

    1. Re-enable SugarChimp. From within Sugar Admin, navigate to the Health Status page.
    2. Right-click anywhere on the page and select Inspect. Switch to the Console tab, and then paste:

    SUGAR.App.api.call('get',SUGAR.App.api.buildURL('SugarChimp/setting/logger/debug'),{},{});

    1. Attempt to replicate the relationship change.  (Changing their relationship and waiting for it to revert.)
    2. Send over the logs. You can get these by following the steps below:

        1. From Sugar Admin, click System Settings     2. Click View Log at the bottom of the page     3. Click All at the top of the page     4. Copy/paste the text that appears into a .txt file to mailchimp@fanaticallabs.com

    1. When completed, you can return the logger level to normal by pasting the following into the Console tab:

    SUGAR.App.api.call('get',SUGAR.App.api.buildURL('SugarChimp/setting/logger/normal'),{},{});

    Please let me know if you have any trouble with this process.

    Best, Heidi

      Hi Heidi, thanks for your support so far. I sent an email to the mentionned address. Due to holidays and other urgent problems we had to solve the response is a little late. I am sorry for this. Thanks in advance!

      Best regards, Ann-Christin

  • "We do a lot of highly-segmented outbound marketing and SugarChimp is exactly what we needed. The list and field syncing are great, and it allows us to do more sophisticated campaigns that exactly target certain Lead profiles in Sugar. The SugarChimp team is also really great, and they are totally committed to our success."
