#4234 - How does SugarChimp know when a message is sent to a contact?

Closed General Question created by JohnK 4 years ago

How does SugarChimp know when a message has been sent to a contact, and therefore creates the "sent" MailChimp activity record? From what I can tell, this doesn't get included as part of the activity returned by the get activity for list call? (I'm getting the lists, then the members for each list, then the activities for each member).

The webhook returns whether or not the campaign was sent, but not individual contacts. When this webhook is received, does SugarChimp simply create a Sent MailChimp activity for each of the contacts attached to that campaign?

    Hello John,

When we receive a Campaign webhook from Mailchimp, the integration reaches out to Mailchimp on the next scheduler run to grab all subscribers attached to the Campaign. We continue to match via the Email Address, along with those attached to the synced list. I hope that clears everything up for you.

Is there something not working with the integration that you are needing help with? Let me know how we can help.

    Thanks, Jon
