#3803 - Mailchimp activities are not being synced with Sugar CRM

Closed Bug? created by Monique Bianchi Ribeiro 5 years ago

Hello, we realized that the mailchimp activities are not being updated and synced with the crm, although they do appear inside the dashlet Mailchimp activity. This would be useful because we would like to find a way of filtering leads who have responded to a specific campaign ( clicked) for example. Do you suggest any way of filtering the leads by Mailchimp activities inside sugar crm? We have tried reports but they won't work since the mailchimp activities are old and do not reflect the reality. Also, we tried with the mailchimp stars rating, but they don't update based on the results of automated campaigns.

Thank you, really appreciate if you can provide any insight about it.

    Hello Monique,

This is probably related to some of the issues we had early on where the webhooks had been disabled so that new Campaigns were not brought into Sugar correctly. Can you go to the MailChimp List > Settings > Webhooks, and see if the SugarCRM webhook is there and working?

You can test this by editing a name in MailChimp and checking if the syned Sugar record is updated correctly? It shouldn't take but a few seconds to update from MailChimp into Sugar.

Let me know what you find on these and we'll go from there.

    Thanks, Jon

Hi Jon, the webhook is inactive. What should I do in this case? This is the message below. I'm just afraid to activate it and then old leads from mailchimp can come to crm as if they were new, as it has happened before. Any recommendation on this? Thanks

We disabled this URL on Apr 09, 2018 1:00 pm because it was unresponsive. If it is working now, please try saving it again, we’ll revalidate it, and turn it back on if all is well.

Hello Monique, The webhooks are required to allow MailChimp to communicate back to SugarCRM. To be safe, we can turn off subscriber_sync_enabled in the integration so that only Campaign activities, and open/click activities will come in from MailChimp going forward. We could also make it to where MailChimp will never create new records in SugarCRM with some settings.

Would you like to do either of those options? Regardless, we know you need to re-activate the webhooks in order to get that piece working again.

    Hello Monique,

Are there any updates to this issue on your end? Is there anything else I can help you with at this time?

    Thanks, Jon
