#3276 - I need migrate arround 600.000 contacts from sugarcrm to an existing list in mailchimp

Closed General Question created by lae_sugar_outfitters 6 years ago

I've been try to make this migration through sugarchimp integration with the option ("Write your own SQL Query to automatically sync Contacts to MailChimp.") but when the migration starts my whole system and my database are stopped.

I don't want maintain the Contacts on my list manually.

Do you know a different way to do that migration and that I can also sync every changes from both sides?

Hello, sorry for the issues and thanks for giving this a try. SugarChimp is made exactly for this and we have customers using it exactly how you are hoping to, so I know we can get this setup for you. I have a few questions to get us started:

Are the 600,000 contacts all of your contacts in Sugar? Or are they a subset?

Can you post the query you're trying to use here?

Can you check your sugarcrm.log file and the php error log on the server to see if there are any error messages being posted when the SugarChimp tries to run?

Lastly, it looks like your 30 day free trial was set to end this week. I went ahead and extended your trial to September 18th so that we can have plenty of time to get this up and running for you.

Let me know the answers to the questions above. Thanks!

    Hi Chad

    I hope you are well

the 600.000 contact are just a subset from "2013/01/01" until today

my query is the following -> SELECT id FROM contacts WHERE date_entered >= '2013-01-01'

I have no errors in my log about that.

I have already uploaded my list with 600.000 contact into mailchimp from an excel sheet.

now i would like to sync this list with my CRM, but the question is, if i try to sync that list with my CRM the process to sync will be faster or not?

thankyou for extended the date of my trial

Thanks for the info. What you tried to do looks good. It's strange to me that your original try did not work on the Sugar to MailChimp sync.

If you go to Sugar, find the Target List that you were setting up with the date_entered query, is there anyone on it yet? If you already have your 600k people on the target list and you manually uploaded the 600k into MailChimp, you might already be done.

If there are not 600k in the Sugar Target List, you could try a MailChimp to Sugar sync, there are a lot of factors to determine if it's faster or slower than the other direction. You can initiate that from the bottom of the SugarChimp Health Status page.

It might be best for us to get on a call and look at this together. If you would like to do that, please pick a day and time that works for you here: https://calendly.com/fanaticallabs/sugarchimp-support

      Thanks!
