#2568 - Only sync a segment of a list from Mailchimp to Sugar

Closed Feature created by alfredgriffioen 7 years ago

Ik keep a lot of subscribers in Mailchimp but only want part of them (a segment) being synchronised with SugarCRM. How can I limit the syncing to just one segment? Or is there another way (based on field content) to do this?

    Hi there,

I'm happy to help. We don't get that request very often as most people want to keep their SugarCRM updated with anybody that they are Campaigning to. The only way to import those subscribers is going to be on a list basis, so segmenting further than that is impossible. Perhaps you can map some extra fields to Sugar, then try to segment in Sugar based on that field and delete the records? Perhaps if you can explain your use case in more detail I can help you find a better solution.

    Cheers!

I use Mailchimp as 'the bigger list' for campaigns and only want to bring people to Sugar when there is personal interaction with our team. This to keep SugarCRM relatively clean. But this requires to transfer Mailchimp subscribers from one list to another. So if you have a solution...

I understand, Thanks for adding that information. We don't have an exact solution for what you are wanting. The closest we could get would be to sync everyone to Sugar and include a field for "Active" or "Hot" that is set based on Campaign Activity. Perhaps have everyone assigned to the Global Team in Sugar until they are set as Active. Then you could assign them to a User for follow up.

I know that doesn't exactly fit the 'keep Sugar clean' bill you were discussing earlier but it's going to be the best option I can give you for now. Let me know what you end up going with, sorry I couldn't give you a better answer there.

A colleague just pointed out that you might could automate the transfer of someone to a separate MailChimp list based on Activity. If that were the case, then you could just sync the separate list to Sugar and not have to worry about the extras. All I could find on that is a slight workaround from Zapier: Add subscribers to a different List in MailChimp. I hope that helps. Cheers!
