#2324 - Avoid new records created on MailChimp go to SugarCRM

Closed General Question created by Berlitz Latam 7 years ago

Hello, I'd like to know how we can avoid that new records created on MailChimp list (existing synced list) go to SugarCRM as new Leads. At this time the sync is creating new Leads in CRM with not data but just email address. We need to disable this behavior in our system.

Also we need to get instructions on how to delete those records from our CRM properly.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello,

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. What is the ideal situation for you in regards to new MailChimp subscribers? Would you like to get those subscribers with more data in your CRM or completely cancel the addition of new MailChimp subscribers into Sugar? Once we get that solution fixed we can figure out the best way to remove your blank subscribers from Sugar. I look forward to hearing back from you.

We need SugarChimp right now just working on one way sync (Extract List from CRM to be mailed by MailChimp). New records created on MailChimp must be kept there but not synced to SugarCRM as new Leads.

    Thanks.

Thanks for letting me know. You will need to adjust a configuration setting by running a query against your Sugar database. This will turn off syncing of new subscribers while still allowing unsubscribes and other MailChimp activities to be sent into Sugar. This is ideal to keep your lists cleaned regularly. The script to run against your database is:

UPDATE config SET value=0 WHERE category='sugarchimp' and name='webhook_subscribe_enabled'

Once done, new subscribers should not get added into Sugar from MailChimp. Let me know when you've tried out this solution. Do you think it will work in your case?

That scenario sounds good for us. For records already created can you please provide instructions on how to delete them from the DB including referenced tables.

    Thanks.

      Hello Berlitz,

There are a few ways to handle this, but I would need to ensure only the improper records are deleted. Can you tell me when the bad records started being created, as well as what information we know about them? Are they all Leads being created? They all have blank data except for email address, correct?

Based on that information, we will find a solution to remove only the correct records.

Thank you for letting me know that. You are still on an older version of the addon that did not support this configuration. You will need to upgrade to our latest version via your Purchases page. From your Account dropdown, it is the second item. You will see SugarChimp and a place where you can download the newest files. Simply download the files and install them over your previous version within Sugar. This is done in Admin > Module Loader. Go to Admin > Repair > Quick Repair and Rebuild, and execute any queries that are needed. Then you should be able to successfully run that query.

You should see 1 row affected by the query. Let me know how that works for you.

    Thanks.
