#1352 - Certain fields not mapping to MailChimp

Closed Bug? created by DJuserDJ Verified Purchase 8 years ago

Hi

I've mapped fields using the SugarChimp Field Mapping tool in Sugar > Admin. I've also re-synced from Sugar to MailChimp. Fields from the Contacts module are mapping fine but those from the Accounts module such as industry type aren't showing up in MailChimp.

I tried to attach an image but am getting a backend response error when I click on the image icon.

Thanks Louise

Hi Louise, I can help with this.

When you're referring to the Account fields you have mapped, are you talking about the fields in the fourth column (far right) on the Field Mapping page? If so, that column is only for if you want to sync your Sugar Account records to/from MailChimp as MailChimp subscribers. It is not for syncing related Account fields for a Contact.

Since you are using Sugar Community Edition, if you want to sync a related Account field for a Contact, you will need to create a custom field on the Contact module that pulls in the related data. Here's a good thread for how to do that: https://community.sugarcrm.com/sugarcrm/topics/calculated_fields_in_community_edition_plug_in_available If you were using Sugar Pro, you could use Calculated Fields to accomplish this.

Let me know how this works. Feel free to shoot me an email with any screenshots if you like: support@sugarchimp.com

    Thanks! Chad

    Hi Chad

Thanks yes I am trying to sync a related Account field for a Contact so I'll have a look at the thread and see how I get on.

    Thanks Louise
