SugarCRM 7 - Installation Guide

General Information

RT SugarBox is a plugin proposed as a data syncing solution between SugarCRM and Box.com services. With a simple interface and great features, this Integration eliminates the need of send content back and forth with updated revisions. With RT SugarBox, you can edit documents and sign contracts using Box’s tools right from within SugarCRM.

SugarCRM Versions/Editions

1) RT SugarBox is compatible with the following SugarCRM editions:
- Professional

2) Following are the Supported Versions:
- SugarCRM 7.1 up to the latest version

Pre-requisites

Following points must be followed before starting the RT SugarBox package installation.

  1. You should login as an Administrator in SugarCRM to do initial settings.
  2. Your SugarCRM Instance should be compatible with the package.
  3. You must have a valid License Key.
  4. If you are installing the package, then make sure there isn’t any older version already installed on SugarCRM. If there is any, then see the Uninstall section of this document.

Installation

  1. On the Administration page click on “Module Loader” to install the package.

  2. Browse the zip file and click on “Upload” button under Module Loader screen.

  3. After uploading package, click on the “Install” button to install the package.

  4. Click on “Commit” button to finish the installation.

  5. On a successful installation, a success message on a new page will be displayed.

Note: In case there is an older version installed, after clicking on the “Commit” button, a message will be shown to uninstall the previous package. See the Uninstall section of this document for uninstall process.

  1. After package installation, perform repair and rebuild. To do this, goto Admin page by clicking on ‘Admin’ from the top right profile menu.

  2. On the admin page, select ‘Repair’ under the 'System' section.

  3. On the Repair page, click on ‘Quick Repair & Rebuild’, to perform the repair action. Once done, you are all set to go!

Setting up your Box Developer Account

  1. To setup your Box developer account , go to https://developers.box.com

  2. Then click on My Apps at the top right corner of the page.

  3. Add in your Box.com credentials or click on ‘Create Account’ to create one.

  4. Once you log in, click on ‘Create a Box application’ link from the right side menu panel.

  5. Add in the application name and click on the ‘Create Application’ button.

  6. Then move on to Configuring your application.

  7. On the Configuration page, add in your SugarCRM instance URL in the ‘redirect_uri’ field. Then, click on the ‘Save Application’ button to retain changes.

**Note: **To use RT SugarBox, your SugarCRM Must be deployed on some instance having no port in its URL e.g. https://domain:port or URL does not contain some IP e.g. https://10.12.13.5/sugrcrm.com

Other examples of formats supported/not supported:
https://domain:port    is not supported by box
https://10.12.13.5/sugrcrm.com is not supported by box
https://somedomain/sugrcrm.com format is supported by box

Box Configuration

For the integration, you must have a validated Box account. In case you don’t have one, follow the instructions below.

  1. After package installation, go to Admin page and click on ‘SugarBox Configuration’.

  2. To fill in the fields, go over to your Box developer account at https://developers.box.com/ and click on My Application. Then edit that application.

  3. Get the ‘client_id’ and ‘client_secret’ information from here.

  4. Go back to SugarBox Configuration and fill in the fields with info from your developer account. Once done, click on the Save button.

  5. A ‘Connect to Box.com’ button shall be visible. Click on the button to verify your configurations.

  6. Upon verification, a tick mark shall appear next to the button.

Your Box is now configured to your SugarCRM system, and all set to go!

Note: If the tick mark doesn’t seem to appear next to the button, it would be either the Box is disconnected, or that the ‘SugarCRM Module's Mapping’ page isn’t accessible.

Uninstall

To uninstall the SugarBox package, follow the following instructions

  1. On the Administration page, click on “Module Loader” to Uninstall the package.

  3. Package will be uninstalled successfully.
