Sugar 7 - Installation Guide
RT DocuSign is a plugin proposed as a data syncing solution between Sugar and DocuSign services. Close deals faster with this integration. DocuSign for Sugar enables your customers to send, e-sign contracts and track your documents anytime, anywhere within minutes.

Following points must be followed before starting RT DocuSign installation.
- You should login as an Administrator in Sugar to do initial settings.
- Server must have SSL certificate installed.
- Your Sugar Instance should be compatible with RT DocuSign.
- You must have a valid License Key.
- If you are installing the Full version of RT DocuSign, then make sure there isn’t any older version already installed on Sugar. If there is any, then see the Uninstall section of this document.
- You need a validated DocuSign account to use RT DocuSign plugi, or make one as instructed below in the document.
- Popups must be allowed on your browser.
- Cron Job must be setup on your Sugar instance to sync the data.
On the Administration page click on “Module Loader” to install the package.
Browse the zip file and click on “Upload” button under Module Loader screen.
After uploading package, click on the “Install” button to install the package.
Click on “Commit” button to finish the installation.
On a successful installation, a success message on a new page will be displayed and you will be further redirected to the configurations page.
Note: In case there is an older version installed, after clicking on the “Commit” button, a message will be shown to uninstall the previous package. See the Uninstall section of this document for un-installation process.
After package installation, perform repair and rebuild. To do this, go to Admin page by clicking on ‘Admin’ from the top right profile menu.
On the admin page, select ‘Repair’ under the System section.
On the Repair page, click on ‘Quick Repair & Rebuild’, to perform the repair action. Once done, you are all set to go!
For the integration, you must have a validated DocuSign account. In case you don’t have one, follow the instructions below.
After package installation, it navigates you directly to the Configuration page. Fill in the required field to configure SugarCRM with DocuSign
Another way to access the Configurations page, is go to Admin and click on “Configure RT DocuSign”.
Now you must fill in the required fields to configure your DocuSign with Sugar. In case, you don’t have a DocuSign account, click on the Sign Up DocuSign link.
On clicking the sign up link, user will be redirected to the sign up page. User must fill in all the necessary details and click on the ‘Get Started’ button.
Once this is done, you will get an email to activate the new DocuSign account. Follow the instructions and click on the ‘Activate’ button.
On clicking the ‘Activate’ button, you will be then redirected to a page where you will be instructed to fill out the password for the DocuSign account. Next, click on the ‘Activate’ button.
After this, you will be redirected to your official new DocuSign account Homepage.
Once your DocuSign account is setup, you must configure your DocuSign to work with Sugar.
Go to DocuSign and click on the top right profile menu. From the drop down, select ‘Switch to Classic’ view.
Once on the Classic view, Click on the profile menu again and select ‘Preferences’.
On the Preferences page, click on ‘Connect; under the ‘Account Administration’ section.
On the Connect page, click on ‘Add Configuration’ and then select ‘Custom’.
Next, fill in the required fields. Name the integration and fill in the Sugar URL to establish a connection between Sugar and DocuSign services. Then, click on the ‘Save’ button.
Once the settings on DocuSign are done, next comes the Sugar configuration to connect with DocuSign.
On Sugar, click on profile menu on the top right corner and select ‘Admin’.
On the Admin page, Click on ‘Configure RT DocuSign’ link under the ‘RT DocuSign Configurations’ section.
On the Configuration page, fill in the DocuSign username, password, and the URL. Do make sure that the URL doesn’t contain proxy of some sort. (Note: Only Admin users have access to ‘RT DocuSign Configurations’)
The ‘RT DocuSign License Key’ is available with the package downloaded from Sugar Outfitters.
‘DocuSign Connection Environment’ must be selected. Choose ‘Demo’ if your DocuSign account is a free trial version, and ‘Production’ if it is a paid DocuSign account.
Select either ‘Global’ or ‘User’ to provide or restrict access to the admin’s DocuSign Account. Select ‘Global’, if you want to configure one DocuSign account for all users. Select ‘User’, so that each User has to configure their own DocuSign account once they plan on creating and sending documents for signature.
To fill in the ‘DocuSign Integration Key’, you need the integration key. To get the key, go to your DocuSign account and select ‘Go to Admin’ from the top right profile menu drop down.
On the Admin page, click on ‘API and Keys’ under the ‘Integrations’ section.
On this page, copy the key under the’ Integrator Keys’ column to add into the field required for Sugar configuration.
In case the integrator key is not present, click on the ‘Add Integrator Key’ button present above the table.
On the pop-up, fill in the Description field and click on the ‘Add’ button.
On following the above steps, a new integrator key will show up under the ‘Integrator Keys’ column for use.
Copy the key, and on the Configurations page, add this key to the ‘DocuSign Integration Key’.
Next, to test the connection between your SugarCRM and DocuSign services, click on the ‘Test Credentials’ button.
If the connection is successful, a success message shall be displayed.
In case of an unsuccessful connection, a failure message will prompt you to check the settings again.
Once the credentials are done and tested, click on the ‘Save’ button to save the settings.
To uninstall the DocuSign package, follow the following instructions
On the Administration page, click on “Module Loader” to Uninstall the package.
Click on “Uninstall” button.
Package will be deleted successfully.
