SugarCRM 7 - Passing Data to Views
Expanding on last week's example, we now look at how to pass data to the menu item to make the URL built specifically for the user who is currently logged in. A custom javascript object is created for a view along with a custom client API method that extends an existing endpoint.

What this means is that the traffic light has turned from green to yellow and modules for SugarCRM 6.x need to start making progress towards 7.x compatibility. From our experiences with 7, there will be some hills to climb initially to figure out best practices for converting existing functionality to the new ways of doing things. Thankfully there are some great resources already available out there.
